One year of wedding preparations. Planned month by month.
Planning a wedding is one of the most exciting experiences, along with a great effort. We have to take into account so many things and give each one of them the necessary time, that making mistakes at some small point in the planning can make us head on during the weeks leading up to the wedding.
With this article, my only intention is to help you and show from my point of view the time you need to go programming when you have to worry about everything important, without leaving anything to chance. https://www.lomography.com/homes/ssweddingphotography

12 MONTHS (AT LEAST) BEFORE YOUR WEDDING
Decide the date. Surely you will have already marked some days as ideals. You can not wait any longer, the time has come to close the date.
First reservations. Once we have the date, which will have depended greatly on the chosen places, both for the ceremony and for the celebration, it is time to reserve the places where your wedding will take place.
The style of the wedding. What kind of wedding do you want? We must begin to define how we want to design our link to start organizing all the planning. Whether it is religious or civil, where it will be celebrated, etc.
Define the budget. Maybe this is the part that most conditions us with the preparations, if you really want to make money out of the money you have available, do not stop reading this article:
Guide to calculate your wedding budget
At the same time, you will have to know if the parents are going to contribute in the budget or that possibility does not exist. We must know about these dates that help we can find and what not to count in our budget.
Wedding providers. You have to start looking at the different offers offered by all suppliers related to weddings, to define what we want. There are a large number of them, but the Wedding Planner, the wedding photographer, the catering service, the flowers and the musicians, could be defined as the most important.
First list of wedding guests. It will not be the definitive one and we will have to define it better, but we must begin to make the list, to get an idea of the commitments we have.
The groomsmen and bridesmaids. This is a point that is usually very clear, deciding who will be the godparents usually occurs even many times for granted. However the sooner they know it better.
Wedding dress. The bride has to start to get an idea of the dress she wants. If at this point you do not have it very clear, focus on this point.
10 MONTHS BEFORE THE LINK
Buy the wedding dress. We can not wait any longer to order it. Making a wedding dress takes time and then needs many tests and adjustments. The veil is also a part that must be decided at this point.
The first professionals. Close the contracts of the main suppliers, that we saw in the first point (Wedding Planner, the wedding photographer, the catering service, the flowers and the musicians) and start to decide between the secondary ones.
Beauty plan. You have to look radiant during the big day, and this you can not leave until the end. Design yourself, both an exercise routine and diet to lose weight (or start losing it) and start with a beauty plan to care for your skin.
9 MONTHS PREVIOUS TO THE WEDDING
Close the guest list. People have to make their plans to attend your wedding and this point can not be delayed any longer, if people are also going to look for flights, the more time they have to organize it is much better.
Wedding stationery. Since we have to start choosing wedding invitations we will take advantage of the options available in wedding stationery (program, minutes, seating plan, waiter, thank you cards, etc.) and a new trend is “Save the date “That is the best way to indicate to the guests that they are reserving the date for the big day, although later send the invitations with the confirmed details.
Hotels and accommodation. Start looking for the right places to offer accommodation to those who come from outside the city where your link will be held.
Wedding list. If you wish to carry it out, this is the time to start making your wedding list.
Honeymoon. Just start planning it and see possible destinations.
6 MONTHS BEFORE THE WEDDING
Wedding invitations. It’s time to start distributing the invitations. Be careful, many people will have to hand it in and this takes time.
How will the ceremony be? Meet with the wedding planner or the wedding officiant, to define how your ceremony will be.
Other reservations. This is the time to close the contracts of secondary suppliers such as furniture, decoration, lighting, transport, honeymoon car, etc.
The menu. Schedule the tastings of the menu and go choosing your wedding cake.
The dress of the godparents and bridesmaids. If you have something to say or you deal directly with the dress of the sponsors, children who will participate in the ceremony or bridesmaids, this is the time to leave it done.
Hairdressing and makeup. Begin to decide on the makeup and hairstyle you will wear on your wedding day.
4-5 MONTHS FOR THE WEDDING
Choose the flowers. For your bouquet, ceremony, decoration, centerpieces, etc.
The wedding menu. Make the tastings and close both the menu and the cake.
Closed clothing. Both the bride and groom and the people who are important in your wedding. At this moment the clothes of each one have to be more than defined and bought.
Honeymoon. Book your honeymoon. Make sure that all the necessary procedures (passports, vaccines, insurance, etc.) are in order.
Request of hand. If you are going to realize this tradition with your families, this will be the best time.
3 MONTHS BEFORE THE WEDDING
Seating plan. Start to define where each one will sit and what is the best way to group the guests. Since many will begin to confirm and you can start working on it. Do not despair if some do not confirm, it is likely that you end up calling them the week before the wedding.
Buying the details. As can be the gifts for the guests, the signature book, the arras, etc.
Define the details of the ceremony. Who will intervene, what readings will be carried out. Etc.
First tests. Experiment with your hair and makeup. The tests are essential to ensure and ensure the look we will take and define it with the professionals chosen for it.
2 MONTHS FOR THE WEDDING
Define your wedding. Review the details that will make your wedding unique, both the ceremony and the banquet and party. Be clear at this time the program of your wedding.
The damn bureaucracy. To get married you have to have a series of papers processed, do not leave them any longer. Beware of visas, permits from other nationalities and others, it is very likely that you will have to process it much earlier to avoid problems with consulates, embassies, etc.
Think and close all the details. From the music that is heard at every moment, to the smallest details or accessories.
The schedule of your wedding. All providers have to know what time they have to be prepared. Create the schedule of your wedding and let everyone know that in one way or another they will participate in your wedding.
More details. Something old, new, borrowed, blue. Small things that have to be controlled.
Hairdressing and beauty. Close the final testing appointments for hairdressing and makeup.
1 MONTH FOR MARRIED
Confirm Both with the guests and with the suppliers, hours, location, etc.
Final dress adjustment. It has to stay like a glove: at this moment we have to have already chosen the shoes and the underwear.
Pre-wedding session. This is the best moment, a relaxed and fun pre-wedding photography session to tell your love story.
Bachelor party. The big day is approaching and if you have decided to carry out this party, do not delay it any longer.
Dance. If you are going to do a choreography or you are something patosillos with the dance, it is time to go to some classes that help us to at least not mess it up at the time of opening the party.
15 DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING
Confirm assistance. At this point there will be guests who have not confirmed their attendance. Get in touch with them and confirm if they will come.
All controlled. If you have plants and pets, look for someone to take care of them during the honeymoon.
Barber Shop. In the absence of the hairstyle, make the cut and the chosen color of your hair. Preparing the hair before the wedding is essential.
Delegate. You will not be able to take care of everything, ask for help from family and friends to help you out on your wedding day. They will do it happy. Assign clear tasks so that they can execute them without problem. Of course, do not saturate them, they are there to accompany you and enjoy with you this great day. It is preferable to have professionals.
1 WEEK FOR YOUR WEDDING
Many payments. This week you will have to pay a lot of people. Have everything ready.
Emergency kit. Prepare your emergency kit for the day of the wedding. Things always happen and you have to be prepared.
Wedding essays. If you have to try something, do not leave it for the last day.
Dresses ready to wear. At this point we do not want surprises.
THE DAY BEFORE
You have to be beautiful. From a massage to relax, to pedicure and manicure treatments.
Rest well. Go to a decent hour and be careful with the parties the day before. Get hydrated well is key.
THE BIG DAY
Plan well. Get up with time, have a good breakfast and try to give each thing the most time necessary. (Hairdressing, makeup, etc.)
It is your great day, relax and enjoy every moment. I assure you it happens too fast.
As you’ve seen, planning a wedding over a year can be a bit strenuous. The advice I give you is to put everything you need in writing, as an agenda. In this way you will be able to plan everything without falling into the anxiety or despair that disorganization gives us.

HOW DO YOU Pick YOUR WEDDING VENDORS?
SELECTING THE RIGHT WEDDING SUPPLIERS FROM THE BEGINNING
ss wedding photography - Have you decided to take the plunge and get married, and you're on the hunt for wedding vendors to accompany you on your big day? Then you've probably realised that there are hundreds of wedding-related businesses in your area, and that the job will be, to put it mildly, tedious.
And it's true that starting from scratch, without knowing anybody, can be daunting. But don't be concerned; you'll soon discover the path that will take you to the appropriate providers. And we say acceptable providers because they are all legitimate, but we are certain that there are some with whom you identify, and you will recognise them as soon as you see them.
In the next lines we would like you to figure some tips, always from our perspective, but we won't tell you which are the best because there are no absolute best providers, but you can get suppliers that better fit your tastes. And this is where we'll concentrate our efforts: on the factors to consider when selecting or dismissing each provider.
How to Pick Wedding Vendors
First steps in your ideal holiday producers' search
The first advice to any kind of provider you need to do is make a wide-ranging search, but you only look at the style at this first moment if you like what you see, if you can see yourself on the making, dress or in those pictures. Take it off if it doesn't fit you. We say this because there is a definite style for each supplier and, luckily, everybody has styles for any taste, so that it is better to choose someone who does what you are looking for than to ask another supplier to adapt to a new style. Your own. Oh, your own.
This first (and most chaotic) stage will expose you to a plethora of websites, Instagram profiles, and wedding vendors. We are confident that you will be able to reduce your circle to no more than a half-dozen providers for each form of service that meet your needs, and you will have solved 90% of the problem.
Now is the time to request details to see how many of them have your free date available, as well as what kind of budget they work with. And now for the second piece of advice: compose them with zeal, as if you want them to respond to you. We often receive messages along the lines of "I'd like a budget for my wedding," and he believes that this is a matter of mutual confidence that must begin with the first email. That is why the first touch is so crucial, because you would be able to see how they react to you and determine if you feel relaxed and confident that they will attend your wedding after that first email, call, or WhatsApp.
And here's my third piece of advice: while budget is important, it shouldn't be your primary consideration. We all have our own set of values, and the budget does not leave you without the perfect provider for you, because you know it is that and not another, and if you give it up, you will come to regret it.
THE DECISIVE MOMENT WITH YOUR WEDDING PROVIDERS: FACE TO FACE
Here's the deal: You wrote with all your heart, they responded, and you already have a feeling that there might be a link with some of them. Following an analysis of the prices, there are a few you can expect or factor into your forecast (remember, do not let this be the main discarding factor).
It's time to get together, either in person or via video call (which is so fashionable these days and is so useful). And this is the point at which your decision should be based on the most. If they speak to you as if you've known them for a lifetime in that first meeting, and you've agreed to go out for a drink together, don't hesitate; you've found the right provider. There aren't any more ruses.
A wedding is a long process, and there are many vendors with whom you will have a relationship for months, and with others, such as photographers and videographers, even after the wedding, so it is preferable to take that relationship a step further and build mutual confidence that enables us all to be at ease during the process. Only in this manner would you have the impression that we are not strangers on the wedding day.
WE ARE A TEAM, AND TRUST IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US.
Remember that all of the vendors who will be a part of your wedding must work together as a team, so it's always a good idea to ask for feedback from the vendors you're considering hiring to help you make the best decisions possible. However, it is important that these suggestions reflect your personal style, as we have all seen many wedding vendors in action and can determine who is the right match for you, your personality, or the type of wedding you are planning.
As a result, once we've established that degree of confidence, we'll be able to assist you in a more personalised manner, ensuring that everything runs smoothly on your wedding day.
We must also recognise the work of the wedding planners, who will do everything possible to ensure that the team you shape is in sync, and this is in line with another piece of advice we often offer you: if any aspect of the wedding is overwhelming to you, don't hesitate to delegate. We've come to have fun.
Finally, you must be absolutely certain of each decision; if you are not, go back and review the measures you have taken to see where you lack the necessary trust. Hire wedding vendors who understand your vision, who are enthusiastic about you, who talk about you, and who make you feel unique. Only in this manner would you be able to have a wedding that is specifically tailored to your requirements and preferences.
Despite the fact that it may seem difficult to find them right now, there are vendors out there who are ideal for your wedding and who suit you like a glove. We hope we have contributed in some way to their discovery (or our meeting!).
If you enjoyed it and want to read more tips like this, we've put together a wedding guide with a wealth of information on how to plan the perfect wedding. We've provided a connection for you to use.

What will be your wedding?
What will be your wedding?
Exit registration is the most beautiful and emotionally filled moment of the wedding.
This is the moment when the lovers, looking into each other’s eyes, say to the joint future “Yes!”
A huge plus of the solemn exit registration is that the newlyweds can independently choose a place, time and design. This is what makes it possible to plan and create the "wedding of your dreams."
The place for the ceremony can be a palace, a seashore, a forest lawn and even the yard of your house. One or two days before the event, it is necessary to rehearse the exit registration. There are several good reasons for this.
1. First of all, it is held so that each participant in the ceremony - newlyweds, bridesmaids, groom's friends and parents - can feel confident and calm on their wedding day.
2. Mandatory participants in the rehearsal - photographers and videographers. They are invited to become a single team, to choose the best places for shooting and to give their professional recommendations on how best to arrange all participants and decorations for registration. Moreover, it is very important to see in advance how everything will look in the photo and video: whether the equipment and wires get into the frame, how advantageous the background behind the newlyweds looks. If there are two photographers, they decide what each person will shoot at certain moments: the emotions of the groom or the tears of joy of relatives.
3. If your registration takes place in the open air, you need to remember that clear weather can add a good mood, but it will spoil the final picture of the holiday very much. It is necessary to understand how to properly position everyone so that the sun becomes an ally and all participants are evenly lit. In this regard, rehearsal should be carried out at the same time as the visiting ceremony, and if necessary, move the decor.
4. During the rehearsal, the technical aspects of the exit registration are determined. The distance of the “central passage”, along which the father and the bride will go, is calculated, taking into account the splendor of the dress. The distance from the altar or reception desk to the guests is very important: it should not be too small so as not to interfere with the work of photographers and videographers, and at the same time too large, otherwise emotional contact with the audience will be lost.
A rehearsal takes about an hour, it justifies itself when all the invitees know the roles assigned to them, exit registration is perfect, in the same breath, and all participants receive luxurious emotions.
Photo and video
What and how to remove
1. Passage of the groom
2. Passage of friends and girlfriends
3. The bride worries outside the door
4. The appearance and passage of the bride
5. Guest response
6. Emotions of the groom (large)
7. General, medium and large registration plans (newlyweds, registrar, friends and girlfriends)
8. Congratulations to guests upon completion of registration
9. Production photo session at the place of registration (only newlyweds; common family portraits; shooting with friends and girlfriends dressed in the same style)
10. Video interview - emotions and congratulations.
1. The bride and groom - are in the center, facing the audience.
2. Friends of the groom - stand next to him with one shoulder to the groom, the other to the audience.
3. Bridesmaids - stand next to her, with one shoulder to the bride, the other to the audience.
4. Registrar / host of the ceremony - is next to girlfriends or friends. It stands in such a way that it sees all the spectators and the groom with the bride.
5. The distance between the arch and the audience is approximately 4 meters (depending on the hall, plus or minus meter).
6. The width of the central aisle is sufficient so that the bride and dad can walk quietly without touching the decor (1.5-2 meters).
7. Side aisles are necessary for the movement of photo and video operators, as well as late guests (at least 0.5 meters)
8. The first rows are intended for parents and closest friends and relatives.
9. Table of the registrar. The desired height is 1 meter. It is arranged so that the newlyweds signed their documents without turning their backs on the audience.
10. Sound and lighting equipment, cords, DJ table are located so as not to fall into the frame.

Choosing a wedding photographer or how to plan a wedding photo masterpiece
Choosing a wedding photographer or how to plan a wedding photo masterpiece
SELECTING A PHOTO
1. The Internet today offers a huge selection. Save 10-20 photo works that you like, not paying attention to names, costs, employment. It can be the work of photographers even from other cities like chennai, coimbatore. Analyze what is common in the selected work. What style do you like most about photos? Natural reporting, impeccable production, author's photoshop or something else. Thanks to this selection, it will be easier for you to explain what you want.
2. Having chosen the style, proceed to the search for a photographer. Look at the portfolio of the best works and, if you like, ask to send 1-2 weddings in full. This is very important to do, because portfolio does not always reflect the final result.
3. Be sure to meet in person! It is very important that you spend your wedding day with a photographer who you like as a person.
4. Set up a test shot. It can be just a walk or a love story. Thanks to this, you will get to know each other even more, understand what it means to be photographed for 2-3 hours in a row, see the result and be able to adjust the views that are most beneficial for you (which is very important for girls :)
5. Prices are different. I do not recommend initially selecting a photographer based on the "Price" criterion. Firstly, the price that you called by phone in one case will include 5 hours of shooting, and in the other the whole day with an assistant and a photo book. Secondly, it is important to understand that you can change the car or apartment for the best, but you will not change the wedding album :))
6. The number of photographers depends on many factors. From the number of guests, from the wedding day program, etc. It is important to understand that during exit registration there are many points that occur simultaneously. For example, dad takes the bride out, and at this time you need to remove the reaction of the groom and guests. The second important point: during the photo shoot of the newlyweds, provide a photographer for the guests. If you still decide to invite 2 or more photographers to your wedding, it is better if it will be one team and everyone will understand their task.
7. Photographers are different :) The profession of a wedding photographer is unique, because one person must perfectly shoot objects, staged shots with the newlyweds, group portraits, be able to anticipate and catch reporting moments. The ideal result is obtained by inviting two photographers, one of whom is an excellent director, and the other is a reportage. Then you can see your wedding from different angles. Also pay attention to the style of processing, the manner of communicating with people and other personal and professional qualities.
Once I invited two photographers to the project, the task was to shoot studio portraits and reportage. One immediately took the camera and went to look for vivid reportage shots, the other built a light and made portraits. The first constantly resorted with burning eyes, and talked about what open, funny, cool people! The second, having finished shooting portraits, joined the journey for reporting. After 30 minutes, he returned sad, with the words mi that no one was making contact, all the people were closed and it was not possible to make a couple of shots :)
Each photographer has his own, special talent!
PREPARATION OF PHOTO MASTERPIECES
There is nothing better than a carefully prepared improvisation!
1. When compiling the timing of the wedding day, we carefully select locations for filming. Here it is necessary to take into account the convenience and speed of movement, the number of people who are at this time at this site, the possibility of parking, how the sun falls at this time of day, the permission to shoot at this place and many other factors. Ideally, if the selection of places for shooting will be selected and approved jointly: organizer + photographer + newlyweds. Only in this case, you can take into account and think through all the nuances.
2. Where to find and how to choose places for filming on a wedding day:
- carefully study the place where the solemn registration is planned. Very often at this place you can find many interesting locations
- We try to find places that are similar in style and lighting throughout the wedding day. Otherwise, if you do not pay attention to it, then the groom’s fees will be charged in high-tech style, the bride in a wooden frame, registration in the palace, and the banquet in contrasting art deco colors. During the day, perhaps this will not be so noticeable, but it will be extremely difficult to make a single photo book or video
- Often places for filming can be found by carefully studying the stories of the newlyweds and their families. For example, it can be a conservatory, the university where the bride studied, or a karaoke bar where they met. The advantage of these sites is that in the daytime in summer, as a rule, these establishments are closed and it is possible to agree on shooting in an absolutely empty room.
3. If you have planned an on-site registration, it is very important to rehearse this event in a selected place and, preferably, at a selected time. The rehearsal requires the presence of all photographers, videographers, organizers, decorators. The task of such a rehearsal is to approve a perfectly lit venue for all the main participants in the ceremony, agree on which camera will shoot from which point, measure the necessary distance between guests and the newlyweds, arrange a receptionist table and many other nuances. It is such a rehearsal that allows us to anticipate events at the time of the solemn registration.
4. What is important to take off on your wedding day? Highlight special moments, details, events of the wedding day. It’s ideal to create a checklist for the photographer, which will describe the time, place and what needs to be removed. This document will allow the photographer to shoot all the most important things, and you will be sure that all the moments will be kept on film :) Do not forget to take the time for a family photo session, describe the guests most important to you, attach photos so that the photographer knows how they look. At a modern wedding, many details are thought out. Describe every detail, attach the simplest photos taken by phone. This will help the photographer quickly navigate, not ask unnecessary questions, and also not to confuse the boutonniere with the bonbonniere :)
5. Accessories that help. In ordinary life, we rarely encounter a professional photo session. It is very difficult to look natural in moments of posing. It will be much easier if you come up with an activity. For example, a romantic breakfast in the garden, kite flying, soap bubbles, ice cream. Turn on the music and dance if you like to do it. It is important that you feel comfortable, do not come up with activities that are absolutely unacceptable to you.
6. Think about the guests. Recently, there has been a tendency to give newlyweds photo sessions of two hours or more. It is important to think about how the newlyweds will feel and pay special attention to the guests. Organize a photo session for them, a light buffet, an interesting lesson, take off a congratulation video, draw a big picture with all the guests. There are a lot of opportunities, the main thing is to think about it.
7. Important little things. Depending on your plan, weather and your resources, it is necessary to provide:
- - interchangeable, comfortable shoes for the bride and girls in high heels
- - umbrellas from the sun and rain
- - drinking water, snacks
- - sunblock, insect repellents
- - wet and matting wipes
- - music for a good mood
- - threads, needles, antistatic, scissors, stain remover pencil :)
Thanks to this approach and thorough preparation, albums and videos from our weddings have repeatedly become world winners.
And most importantly, the chances of a bad wedding are zero, and the newlyweds really enjoy the holiday on their wedding day!
